Launch of the 2017 Chaleur Region Tourism Guide

Petit-Rocher, NB It is with great honor that the committee responsible for the Chaleur Region Tourism Guide launched its 2017 edition this evening, in Petit-Rocher.

The guide is informative but also playful. The goal of the various texts contained therein is to help readers discover the Chaleur Region, the Acadian Community and its history, as well as the legend of the Phantom Ship.

Our treasure, the Bay of Chaleur, is presented, in addition to the communities which make up our beautiful region. Readers are invited to meet people from the region who are going to share their favorite activities which include seafood tasting, beaches and hiking trails discoveries, kayaking and snowmobiling.

This year, we want to highlight the 4 Xtreme races happening in our region: la traversée des rameurs, the Moose Challenge, the Défi Nepisiguit Challenge and the internationally known Course Xtreme Race. We wish to promote these events in order to increase the number of participants yearly by giving the readers the desire and the opportunity to participate.

You will also find the Top 10 wonders of the Chaleur Bay. These are places that visitors absolutely must not miss!

This guide is the visitors’ must-have tool. Inside, you will find all the events, accommodations, restaurants and campgrounds.

25,000 copies of the guide have been printed. It will be distributed throughout the province but also outside New Brunswick during Tourism Shows and even in Europe during Destination Canada information sessions. It will also be distributed to the Beresford Farmer’s Market and in all provincial and municipal Visitors Information Centers.

Visitors will be able to find it everywhere (accommodations, campgrounds, restaurants) but also online. A PDF version is available to anyone who would like to put the link on their website.

A great team worked on this Tourism Guide. The graphic work was done by Claudine Savoie (Impression Printing) and the coordination of the guide by Emilie Dilhac, under the supervision of Vincent Poirier.

The process for creating the guide was guided by a committee composed of: Vincent Poirier: Village of Pointe-Verte, Donna Landry: Town of Beresford, Michaël Roy: Village of Petit-Rocher, Nicole Carrier: Village of Belledune, Isabelle Morrier: Destination Bathurst, Jennifer Daigle: The Greater Bathurst Chamber of Commerce, Rose Krysko: Pabineau First Nation, Christine Frenette: Atlantic Host, the Village of Nigadoo and the City of Bathurst.

It is also very important to highlight the partnerships we have with neighbouring regions: Edmundston, Campbellton, Miramichi, Acadian Peninsula and Restigouche.

A huge thank you to all those who have made the guide possible and also to the numerous companies and partners supporting, year after year, this important promotional tool for our region.
